Summertime is Here

The first day of summer is officially here, but our season has been in full swing for quite some time!  We are happy to see our summer guests return.  We want to take this time to remind you to be aware of a few things.  Be sure and obey the safety flag warning system.  Please keep glass off of the beach and take all of your trash with you when you leave.  It’s important for your safety and fun to place your tents in the designated tent areas.

We have lots of fun, new activities at Ike’s!  We’ve got a beautiful new parasail boat, the HI-FLY, running in Gulf Shores.  We’ve also got paddle boards and some awesome new sand bikes.  Of course, we have kayaks, beach wheelchairs, chairs & umbrellas, cribs & high chairs, too.  We are undergoing some renovations at the office as well.  We have a great staff this summer and they are working hard to make your stay the best ever!  We love to hear from you!  Check us out on Facebook or drop us an email.  Enjoy your visit to our beautiful gulf coast!

Help Us Keep the Beach Clean

It seems that the more guests that we have on our beaches, the less inclined they are to clean up after themselves.  Everyday, our beach attendants must pick up bags of litter like cans, bottles, snack wrappers, napkins, and even dirty diapers.  Remember that glass of any kind is not allowed on the beach!!  There are trash containers at the end of each boardwalk for you to discard your trash, please help us out and use them for these small items only.  The attendants also pick up discarded beach chairs, tents, beach toys, floats, umbrellas, tent stakes, ropes, etc.  You are responsible for your own items!!!  Take them with you when you leave, no matter what shape they’re in.  If you don’t want it any longer, throw it away, but not in the trash cans at the end of the boardwalk.  Take them to the dumpster or take them home.  So often, storms blow up in the afternoons or overnight and tents, chairs, toys, and umbrellas all get destroyed and then no one wants to pick up their pieces.  We often get calls from people wanting to know “What the beach guy did with my stuff.”  I can only say this,  “If you enjoy the use of your things and want to keep them and keep them intact, take them in at night, then you won’t have to worry about them!”  Storms do pop up and blow things around.  Waves will roll in and wash things out into the water.  And unfortunately, there are a few people who will walk up and take what doesn’t belong to them.
